Time matters most, but what if you dont have any

One of the ways you learn at Hult is through the intimate relationship alumni maintain with their alma mater. Be it a guest lecture they hold or a one-time workshop they give, opportunities to engage with professionals from numerous industries are many: offering insights into different companies, and coming together in cross-campus challenges, such as the PwC Challenge. Early in the Masters in International Business curriculum at the Hult London campus, we had the chance to apply to participate in said challenge. In one part, it served as an insightful QA into the life of current PwC Manager Steffen Roggenbach and his colleagues. On the other, it challenged student teams to familiarize themselves with a specific real-world challenge and pitch their project approach to the client, represented by PwC. What sounded simple quickly turned into a valuable lesson in time management and prioritization. The approach Day One of coaching enabled many to gain a first glimpse of what life as a consultant actually looks like. On Day Two, it was up to us to apply what we’d learned. The key to any client pitch is to understand the main challenges and issues faced by the client, to truthfully convince them of your approach and achieve their buy-in. At this stage of the project, you’re not required to propose a solution to the client – all you need to do is to convince them of the way you would like to engage and solve their problem. What sounded simple quickly turned into a valuable lesson in time management and prioritization Plan of attack To tackle this, we first tried to make sure we had a consensus about what the underlying client issues were. Secondly, we had a lot of discussions concerning the precise scope of the task – where the approach ended, and the actual solution started. Overestimating the time available and underestimating the effort necessary to come to a consensus. Since we failed to come up with a consolidated and focused list of things to do, we hectically tried to check all boxes discussed. Ultimately, as you may expect as reading this, the result wasn’t our proudest deliverable. Down but not out Fortunately, this wasn’t an actual client pitch, and we didn’t just jeopardize a multimillion-dollar contract for our firm; we were acting safely within a learning environment. Looking back at the challenge, instead of trying to check all boxes at once, we could have divided our time to: Redefine our scope Stick to a few selected strong argument points Deliver a compelling story while being honest about what has been chosen to be left out to be discussed later Taking a little time upfront to prioritize and weigh-up tasks later down the line would have set us up better for the ultimate task: presenting to our client. But that’s learning! It’s challenges like these that give us the insight into real-world decision making – next time, well make the time. Keen to try your hand at real-world client challenges? Adversity In The Great Gatsby - 1118 Words

Despite the outdated settings and characters in many novels, the stories and the lessons they contain are still valued and relevant to a contemporary society. Books provide the reader with an escape from the adversity of reality and place them in the fantasies and dreams of the main characters. Along with emotion, a novel should teach people lessons and the morality of actions and their consequences. Although some books may vainly appear as obsolete and forgotten, each story shares a different voice and a different perspective of the world. In The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald, the rivalry between East Egg and West Egg directly relates to the time period and to modern day society. Similar to how the characters in The Crucible were optimistic of the truth, Gatsby believed in Da isy to confess her love. Ultimately, these misconceptions and optimism led to the deaths during the Salem witch trials and the death of Myrtle, George Wilson, and Gatsby. If Daisy were to have the courage to stand up to her intimidating, abusive husband, then Gatsby would have survived, and they could have lived a better life together. Although the witch trials and the time of Gatsby may be a long time ago, the idea that optimism and blindness by love and truth is a weakness in individuals are still relevant today and can still resonate with the modern reader. The purpose of a story is not solely just to share lessons and truths about human nature but to also share stories of the past. Recognizing history and the knowledge acquired through stories is crucial in growing as an individual and as an entire society. People may be inclined to forget awful wars or events of the past. However, the act of forgetting these stories is an effort to avoid confronting the terrors and mistakes of the past. Essay on Effect of violence seen on Television - 985 Words

Physical Violence is more notable in boys than girls, whereas girls are more violent verbally than physically. I note two different instances when entertaining a group of kids in a birthday party. At a birthday party of nine-year-old boys, they tend to become bored and distracted very easily. I turned my back for only a few minutes when a boy began imitating wrestling moves he had seen on a wrestling television show. I am sure the show he saw was for entertainment purposes only and was never meant to be reenacted; however, he was under the impression that the wrestling moves were ok to try on his friends. The United States Government Should Not Be An Active Player

In this paper, I intend to analyze and argue, that we as humans have the right to not only own, but buy, sell, and trade privately owned property. I will also state why I believe that the United States Government should not be an active player in property rights, but an outside regulating source, not interfering or intervening. And I will also go on to say that The United States Government should just protect the people and the people’s property. Here in The United States, we have the luxury to own our own property, sell it, trade it, and to do whatever else we see fit. However this is not the case in other places, there are some places in the world where their government owns all of the property and distributes the property among the citizens. Here in America we can buy property at the age of eighteen, and do whatever we want to our property, we can paint our property, add on to our property, we can rent our property, lease our property, mortgage our property, trade our property, and sell our property, just like the game of Monopoly. But First I want to clarify that I am in no way advocating that I think monopolies are okay, however I will be stating how much freedom I feel is necessary. The Second Treatise of Civil Government, written by John Locke, one of the biggest advocators for privately owned property is a go to source for why we have this right to own property. What Gives My Life Meaning Essay Example For Students

What Gives My Life Meaning Essay The question is not how do we become best in the world? but how do we become the best for the world? Uffe Albaek, The Kaos Pilots. Ive been through quite a bit these past couple of years, and its led me to realize everyone is dealing with their own struggle. Given everything Ive been through, one thing Ive felt is, what is the point in life or living if, we as humans are not there for one another? If we dont have someone to support us at our lowest, what would make anyone worth being with at the peek of their life? Hard times are hardly worth struggling through if you dont have someone to share your love with at your best, and someone too fallback on at your worst. Personally, Im not a big fan of the society we live in. I cant change everyone, but I can start with myself. Since things have been a bit bumpy for me, I feel that if I can reach out to others to help make their lives better my life would have more significant. Many people dont realize what being a true friend is worth, so they go off back-stabbing, smack talking and knocking each other down, especially in high school when your at your curliest years, and for what? Just to get what they want, or to make them feel better about themselves. Being a witness of bullying, occasionally a victim and head of the loaners club, for a year I realized its important to be a friend to somebody, especially someone who has no one. When I feel as if there is no point to working through a struggle I realize that if I can give help back, my life still does have meaning. How do I make sure Im being the best I can be for the world? Simple, the only person I plan on being better then, is the person I was yesterday. Personally, I wouldnt truly be happy to share my glory with people who are only there for the ride and not the storm, I wouldnt feel as if these people are my true friends so there would always be a piece missing in my happiness if I was sharing my glory with people who didnt support me at my lowest. As long as I keep trying to improve myself, I have hope in the rest of the world to improve themselves too. How can we lighten up and be supportive to one another if were non stop competing with each other? Competition means someone wins and someone loses, but if your only competing with your self to be a better person you will realize that we can make this world a happier place by supporting one another, instead of knocking them down. Even if somebody is not there for me, I will always be there to support them if they need because just giving back lets me know Im here for a reason and somebody needs me. As humans we need to understand we are all dealing with different struggles, and everyone needs someone to fallback on. Therefore, I always try to influence on to my peers to not judge one another, because we are not God, but we should just try to understand why certain people are the way they are so love and support them unconditionally. Nobody can control what they are going through, but we can only control how we deal with the situations. I like to ask my self questions like, Why does a bully beat up other kids? Well maybe he gets abused at home, and that is how he makes himself feel better, but in return all he gets is more damaged by having other reject him for his flaws. If your think about it, the bully probably needs more love then the victim, therefore I always try to reach out too all kids who are struggling, despite a persons actions. .u831f2a3d53d6646877c803a0116c4113 , .u831f2a3d53d6646877c803a0116c4113 .postImageUrl , .u831f2a3d53d6646877c803a0116c4113 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u831f2a3d53d6646877c803a0116c4113 , .u831f2a3d53d6646877c803a0116c4113:hover , .u831f2a3d53d6646877c803a0116c4113:visited , .u831f2a3d53d6646877c803a0116c4113:active { border:0!important; } .u831f2a3d53d6646877c803a0116c4113 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u831f2a3d53d6646877c803a0116c4113 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u831f2a3d53d6646877c803a0116c4113:active , .u831f2a3d53d6646877c803a0116c4113:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u831f2a3d53d6646877c803a0116c4113 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u831f2a3d53d6646877c803a0116c4113 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u831f2a3d53d6646877c803a0116c4113 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u831f2a3d53d6646877c803a0116c4113 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u831f2a3d53d6646877c803a0116c4113:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u831f2a3d53d6646877c803a0116c4113 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u831f2a3d53d6646877c803a0116c4113 .u831f2a3d53d6646877c803a0116c4113-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u831f2a3d53d6646877c803a0116c4113:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Case 1-1 Ribbons and Bows EssayI find importance in my life by viewing each person as equals so we can equally support each other. If we subtract all the material items from this world we would realize all we really have is each other and because of that I find meaning in my life by giving back to this world, with love and support because both those things are priceless.

Cloning 7 Essay Research Paper CloningThe announcement free essay sample

Cloning 7 Essay, Research Paper Cloning The proclamation one twelvemonth ago that Scots scientists had successfully cloned an grownup sheep raised superciliums all over the universe. While scientists by and large responded with great enthusiasm, ordinary people every bit good as theologists and ethicians instantly and prematurely responded with indignation. The job with cloning is non that it is incorrect or unethical, but the fact that the general population has been misinformed and frightened about cloning so much that merely the word ringer has a negative intension to it. Many think it would be incorrect to clone a human, and have slapped labels such as immorality or immoral on human cloning. The beginning of people s disgust may come from their visions of a science-fiction monster developed in a Frankenstein type of research lab, a species inferior to us, a universe of worlds wholly alike ( no familial diverseness ) , or Jurassic Park. The fact is, cloning will non take to this, and any spiritual resistance is non steadfastly based. A ringer is fundamentally a time-delayed indistinguishable twin of another ( Vere 1 ) . Identical twins have the same DNA composing, but different fingerprints, as will clones. Some say the cloning is abhorrent or disgusting, yet they don t see indistinguishable twins as repugnant or disgusting ( 5 ) . If cloning is outlawed and made a offense, who is the victim? Cloned individuals shouldn t be the victim merely because they were born with the same DNA as another individual. Human ringers would most likely consider themselves something particular, particularly when they are the twin of a distinguished person ( 5 ) . But there is no warrant that the ringer will be interested in the country that they are expected to, for indistinguishable twins frequently have different involvements. Besides, indistinguishable twins have a 30 % opportunity of being different by intelligence and a 50 % opportunity of being different by personality ( 3 ) , and these people grow up in the same environment . If a ringer is raised in a different environment, as they probably would, these opportunities of being different would likely be greater. Cloning besides will non decrease familial diverseness and go forth us more vulnerable to disease epidemics ( 5 ) . For illustration, it would be many old ages before the universe ringer population is 10,000 people. If the population in 2050 is eight billion, so the per centum of ringers in the universe would be infinitesimal, less than 1 % of 1 % of 1 % ( .0001 % ) . It should besides be noted that even if every individual in the universe was cloned, it would bring forth five billion worlds genetically different ( 5 ) . Some people argue that cloned people would non be given legal rights and could be used as slaves. This statement is absurd. A cloned individual would hold the same legal rights as any other individual. The ringer would be human merely like any one of us, non a sub-human species that would be inferior. One could non develop a ringer to utilize for variety meats and other trim parts. Besides, a individual on the street would non be able to separate a ringer from a of course created individual. Do non fear, the opportunities of a Jurassic Park happening is really slender. After decease, DNA begins to slowly decompose, destructing sections of the familial codification ( 9 ) . Merely a few short fragments of dinosaur DNA have survived the 1000000s of old ages, but non plenty to clone one. Many think that cloning is incorrect for spiritual grounds, but there is scriptural text that prohibit cloning. These oppositions say cloning sums to playing God. But if one thinks about physicians executing bosom and organ grafts, usage of life-support systems, and vaccinums, you can non assist but believe that a physician ever plays God. It should be pointed out that similar spiritual expostulations were one time raised against necropsies, anaesthesia, and test-tube babes. Now, necropsies are platitude, one could non conceive of holding a surgical process without anaesthesia, and test-tube babes are hailed as a approval to infertile twosomes ( World 115 ) . It would merely be a affair of clip before cloning would be widely accepted. And if others still object to cloning they are in no manner obligated to make it, but they must non state others what to make with their ain Deoxyribonucleic acid. Still another statement against human cloning is that it is excessively unsafe and the engineering has non been perfected. These critics are precisely right, the engineering has non been perfected. That is why cloning should still be allowed. It is absurd to put a prohibition on new discoveries merely because it is non absolutely safe ( Vere 6 ) . Thirty thousand people perished on the Oregon Trail, 50 thousand people die in car accidents each twelvemonth in the US, fatal aeroplane clangs kill 100s in a individual accident, and 1000s choke to decease on poulet castanetss each twelvemonth ( 6 ) . Yet people dare non see censoring cars, aeroplanes, or fried poulet merely because the positive benefits greatly outweigh the hazards ( 6 ) . Someday it is even possible that cloning could assist salvage endangered species or convey back 1s now extinct ( Cohen 1329 ) . So what is the chief job with cloning? Is it incorrect because it is unnatural, or the unreal position of a individual would confabulate them as less an person? No. The chief job with cloning is that the populace has non been wholly informed, so they have jumped to a undue decision. The general populace must first larn the facts about cloning before they rant and rave about what is unethical and what is non. Plants Cited Cohen, Jon. Can Cloning Help Save Beleaguered Species?
